Petrol all over my leg!

Uhh... it's just such an angry day for me! Just got back from the 'pump petrol marathon' at SHELL, apparently gonna naik harga 20 sen! But after knowing that it cost 3 aussie dollar per litre in australia from my friend, i'm just relieved that Malaysia's oil is much cheaper.

Waited at least 10 mins in queue for my turn. No time for thinking whether your petrol inlet is on the LHS or on the RHS of the car, but just prepare in 1st gear when u see the driver getting in the car, then zoooooommmm into that empty lot once it moves an inch. This, i call...... SURVIVOR! no mr nice guy, ladies!

Parked at counter 7, walked to the counter and waited in line again.
Me : Kounter 7, penuh!
Girl : Kena bayar deposit
Me : *Took out wallet and slip RM50 through the lil hole, walked off

So, i did what the advertisement taught us. "Angkat, Cucuk (masuk actually), Picit!" Pulled that lil metal piece to hold back the trigger so that it flows constantly without holding it, i waited. I looked at the numbers going up and up and up, it was just so slow compared to other petrol kiosk... bored. Nvm, continued waiting. Then, i lean my back against my car, just beside the nozzle. Not even 5 secs later, my right leg felt so cold, and definitely some liquid was flowing all the way from my knee down to the slippers! IT WAS PETROL! immediately the sight of me being ablaze with fire came to my mind, thinking of how painfully i'll be screaming and rolling on the floor screaming for help, then the fire spreads to the car and explodes and continues with the whole petrol kiosk exploding! (bear with me, i watch too much tv)

So, petrol on my leg, and splashing all over the floor, just like a running water tap! Within the blink of 1/2 an eye, i grab hold on the nozzle and unlocked the trigger! Fuhhhhh what an adrenalin rush! A few guys were shocked to see after the dripping sound caught their attention. I looked back at them with a blur look, didnt
know how it happened either. Well, i guess the full limit auto-detect thing in the nozzle is spoilt, therefore it couldn't scan that the petrol has reached the full limit, thus overflowing.

The petrol evaporated extremely fast, but my right leg was still feeling a lil cold. Closed the petrol inlet, put back the nozzle, and walked back to the cashier to get my change. Btw, it cost me RM48.82, and i didn't dare to make it RM49 cos the petrol has already spilt!!! (guess i wasted 30-40cents?) At the cashier, after putting my hand out to get my change of RM1.20, instead i only got RM1.05! WHAT IS THIS! I know my rights, so i raised my voice...

Me : EH, BUKAN RM1.18 KE? PUMP RM48.82 SAJE?
Girl : Takde duit syilling la boy...
Me : *in my mind i was thinking, "what nonsense or asshole words is she talking?"
Me : MANA BOLEH MACAM NI!? WAHH... MUDAH YA BUAT BISNESS? UNTUNG LA MACAM NI? CEPAT PERGI CARI SYILLING! SAYA TUNGGU.

Ok guys, i know it's another 13cents less only. For those easy goers, just forgive me for being rude; but for those who knows their rights and knows that money is hard to earn, u know how i feel. U wouldn't want them to earn such easy money, rite?

So, she thinks that tomorrow increase 20cents... so 1 hour before midnight can increase 13 cents la? F*** her man! ..l.. middle finger for her. In addition to the faulty nozzle and spilling of petrol on my leg, still dare to charge me extra?! Go to hell.

In the end, i gave her back the 5 cents, and got a 20cents back. I guessed she gave 2 cents extra to apologize to the bouncer-look-alike guy? And for those who wanna go pump petrol, dun go to Bangi's SHELL, cos that's where i got this S***!

B747 sand castles

Memories from Pulau Kapas are still so vivid, and i've been blogging bout it for a week, sharing my sweet memories (minus of the mosquitoes) with you all, and trying to promote it as a beautiful island.
Image hosted by Photobucket.com

Today's papers got my attention with the words 'Kuala Terengganu, Dolphin, Kapas'. It seems that an injured baby dolphin was found washed ashore by a few boys at 7am on Tuesday(The Star). They tried to push it back to the sea, but it just refused. Hm... this lil dolphin is smart too ya? He knows he's injured and results to human for help. Thank Lord that help didn't fall into the wrong hands. It was then sent to Pulau Germia / Gem Island for recuperation at the resort, the same resort where i witnessed the baby turtles a week back. It's a beautiful resort, with a balcony to each room, facing the sea and inches away from sea level. One day, i'm gonna try it out, price is reasonable for it's standard.

So what would you do in the evening on a beach? Besides dipping in the sea, playing beach ball, looking at girls in bikini walking around...... As for the 7 of us, we made SAND CASTLES! hahaha... though we have entered the young adult years, but we still have the heart of a kid! And how could we miss out our favourite sculpture - the aeroplane. Here are the childish creations from us. (But the B747 model needs skill and experience from ppl like us to build)

Green-back Baby Penyu

1 week after my trip to Kapas, i still look nothing like a Chinese, but a Malay - near Indian. Everyone has been looking at me one kind, asking me "How come u r so dark?!" To answer that, i've repeated umpteenth times by saying "cos i just came back from the beach". If it is girls who asked me, they would continue by saying "haha! sure never apply sun block!" but if it is guys who asked me, they would just nod their head, simple answer.

Why on earth would a guy like me apply sun block? so mafan. have to bring extra load, have to flip open the bottle cap, terbalik-kan the bottle, squeezeeeee the bottle, apply and massage onto body. eeeeeeeeeee...... just too girly! Instead, i would just take off my shirt, and get my whole body tanned evenly. However i think i got over-tanned? and my skin is starting to shed. (i sound like a snake)

Perhaps, i should let down my ego, and apply NIVEA's Intensive Moisturising Milk with Avocado Oil - DRY SKIN edition to my shedding skin??? Can i see a hands up from girls? hahahaha!

6 Dugongs, 1 dead

Anyway, on day 2, we went half skinny dipping at 8 in the morning, and it was like dipping in north pole! it's just so cold!!! Imagine yourself dipping inch by inch deeper, when it reaches your lower abdomen, the feeling is just unbearable rite? Out of a sudden, you would jump up like a compressed spring DOINK!

From left to right : Dugong, Peace penyu, Dugong, Dugong, Dead Dugong, high-5 penyu

By the way, Kapas' water is as clear as Redang's, but the corals aren't as nice as Redang's, 70% are dead corals. The beach boy said that because Kapas is near to mainland, it was exposed to pollution and the monsoon, so they can't do anything about it. However, Pulau Kapas is still one of the favourite turtle landing spots, i'm not sure Redang has any or not though. And lucky me, there was turtle landing on Kapas the night before and turtle hatching on the next day! So, we decided to go kayaking to the adjacent island - Pulau Germia, where the hatchings were held.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com
The Machos...

Paid RM5 / person, wore on the life jacket and started paddling for about 20 minutes. Pulau Germia was circumfered by floats, marking the protected territory that the government imposed on it, something like water reserved land. Once we paddled till the shore, quickly we pull the kayak up and walked to the plastic barrel-built jetty.

wahhh!!!!!!!!! 1st time seeing baby turtles! they are just so cute! so HYPERactive! so wanna get out of the netting cage! swim swim swim left! swim swim swim right! hahaha.... once awhile, 1 will get it's big flipper hands stuck to the net and the beach boy will help loosen it out. We were not allowed to touch them, but only to snap pictures.

Penyu : I wanna go out! let me out of here!

Image hosted by Photobucket.com
Penyu #1 : Hey u! stop stepping on me! u think u very small size issit!?

Me : Bang, penyu apa ni?
Bboy : Agar, Penyu Agar. Then with an english accent that he tried so hard... Green-back Turtle!
Me : ooo.... comelnya... Ada berapa sini?
Bboy : 113! semalam baru menetas.

They are just 1 day old. It seems there were 129 eggs, 16 didn't make it to planet earth, but only made it to planet heaven. The beach boy also explained to me that the hatchings depend on weather condition and temperature. If most of the time it's sunny, more eggs will hatch. Maybe the eggie feels a warm welcome above the sand? Then, the mischievous me asked...

Me : Bang, kenapa panggil Green-back? tak hijau pun?! semua itam-itam.
*silence for 5 seconds
Bboy : Dulu kau masih muda, bawah sana ada bulu tak? takde kan? sekarang baru ada kan? Sama-lah macam ni.. skarang dia hitam... nanti tua skit, baru tukar hijau haaaa...... hahahhaha
*laughing cheekily
Me : *smacks my forehead with right palm, speechless!!!

what an example, mr beach boy. hahaha! he then said that this batch of 113 would be released into the sea once the next batch of eggs hatches. These baby penyus will be feeding on sea weeds on the surface of the sea for the next few months as it can't survive in the deep yet (not fit enough). He also said that there might be a possibility of only 50% or less surviving in the end, because of being prey to fishes and birds. Just as he finished saying that, i looked upon the big blue sky. There were 2 seagulls doing their rounds, sigh!

Image hosted by Photobucket.com
Penyu : U and me... we are meant to be together. I love u Honey.

The big sea is awaiting these baby penyus to join the ecosystem, hope they manage to be a survivor and come back to Malaysia and visit us ya!

141 mosquitoes in 30 mins

Never in my life i've encounter such a big number of mosquito! And never in my life i've seen mosquitoe(s) on an island, with the exception of Pulau Kapas which gave me the shock of my life. Pulau Kapas may look peaceful and quiet, while tourist sun bathe on the beach and enjoy the breeze; wait till dawn or dusk, Pulau Kapas will then turn into a dance floor, where each and every tourist would be clapping their hands and jumping up and down, creating a very happening atmosphere. Now dun get me wrong here, they are not dancing with happiness, but with tears and frustration on their faces! There are just too many mosquitoes to be killed!

I woke up in my hammock at 0700 hrs, was in a jacket and shorts. Upon getting my legs out and into the slippers, i was shock to see the amount of red spots on my legs and feet, but they were't itchy at all, so i just assumed it was the thorn the got me the day b4 while jungle trekking.

Walked back to the room and sat on the chair in front of it.

"eeeeeeeeeeeee........."
*shakes head vigorously and scratch ears with shoulders

*shit... i could now only hear 'tinggggggggggggggg....'
*whack my ears too hard, but i got the mosquito on my palm, YES!

The KapasWar between kampungkai and team mosquito officially started exactly at 0705 hrs. In the end, kampungkai lost the battle, because the following evening, a new batch of batallion mosquitoes arrived and kampungkai's hands were sore enough.

Image hosted by Photobucket.com
It was a bad experience. Kampungkai had never seen so many mosquitoes in 1 go b4 in his entire 21 years. It's scary.
p/s : that was only done by me alone. There were 7 of us. U need a calculator?

Pulau Kapas - Part II

Please read through Part-I b4 going on to Part II.

after walking about 5km, our legs were just too tired to go on, it felt like taufu. In addition to the heavy bag that was straining my shoulder, i just felt like collapsing. Now i know how fit and strong those mat-salleh are, backpacking all around malaysia with those huge deuter camping bag(s) that could make u fall to your back once on your back.

Not only were we tired, our urine bag were kinda overflowing, and every step we took was kinda like inviting it to leak haha! Throughout the walking journey, we passed by 2 petrol kiosks, ESSO & SHELL, but both weren't open at 0705 hrs!!! if compared back to KL, the kiosk would be open as early as 5am or even 24 hours rite? so since it wasn't open, same goes to their toilet. Wishing to see a coffee shop so that we could release the stress, but none came to rescue. The whole town was so quiet, just a few cars, 95% of the shops were still close, well i told myself that i'm in KT, dun expect so much.

In the end, we found the town-bus station, thank God. Next to the station was this 4 lil stalls selling breakfast, I bought a copy of NST for RM1.20 and ordered a cup of Kopi.(Ram had Milo) THE STAR papers doesn't go on sale until 10am because of the journey. After having 2 sips of my hot drink, the Pakcik said...

Pakcik : Pegi tandas skejap ya!
Me : *Nod my head and smile
Me and Ram : *dumb-founded, looking at each other

Image hosted by Photobucket.com
Door pulled down with everything unattended

The Pakcik just pulled down the sliding door and walked off!!! leaving me and ram at his stall, with everything unattended!!! KT ppl trust strangers so much! I could have just stuff some food in my mouth and walked off! But this is the 100th time i'm telling u, kampungkai is a very kind and good guy, he helped the Pakcik look after his stall, and made sure no1 took the opportunity to rob his stall. hahaha!

5 mins later, he got back, re-opened his stall, trusted me.
Me : Boss, kira! (typical KL style, i wonder whether they say it like that in KT)
Pakcik : RM1.40
Me : Dua berapa? *pointing to Ram's drink as well
Pakcik : RM1.40
Me : Dua, RM1.40?

wow... so cheap! 70 cents per drink! couldn't believe it! and it tasted good, gave me a push-start for my day. i could buy 15 cups of kopi with the same amount of money paid to starbucks.

Back to walking. Headed back to the roundabout which was 3-4km away to meet up with friends. While walking, u can see eyes starring at u everywhere. Maybe it's because the backpack on my shoulder, that gives the feeling of mat-salleh roaming around town.

Finally, the other 5 arrived and picked us up to Marang Jetty. Had a quick snap of photo b4 getting on the speed boat. Every1 was equipped with their cool gadget - the sunglasses! hahahah.....

The speed boat was equipped with 2 MERCURY engines, not that sure how much horsepower, but the speed was quite ok. Reminds me of my trip to Redang 2 years back, the speed boat was fitted with 4 250hp MERCURY engines, that contributes to 1000hp of thrust! fuh! it was raelly a thrilling ride man! no kidding! it was as though the boat was flying without wings.

Kapas is kinda near to mainland. Only 15mins speed boat ride. It's visible from mainland.

Upon checking in the rooms (A21 & A22), all tried to be Macho! took of shirts, wore on sunglasses, walking around shifitng stuff, too bad la... no chics around also!

Time to have lunch. Since it's such a budget trip, we had maggie mee. Look at the pic, we had 5 pacs of curry flavour, 1 pac of asam laksa flavour, and 1 pack of ayam flavour. So, we threw in all the instant mee into the boiling water and...... poured all 7 pacs of different flavouring into it! MY goodness! it was Naim's suggestion! it came out so cacat with curry asam laksa ayam flavour, of course with majority of curry. And it waste so salty as though I was drinking salt water from the sea!! till now, i can remember the taste. I was cursing all around, hoping that i dun lose my hair by the end of the 3d2n trip.

Pulau Kapas - Part I

(Looking in the mirror) wow, i'm so tanned! exactly the same tone as a Malay. Here I am, after my memorable trip to Pulau Kapas, Terengganu. U guys must be hoping for photos from Kapas? Well, here u are, i snap tonnes of them. Of course, accompanied with the desription of the whole trip.

2210 hrs
My journey started from Kajang bus station, though it was stated on my ticket that the bus would leave at 2245 hrs, we left late. But it's ok, i'm use to the fact that public transport are seldom punctual. (except aeroplanes haha!) And the bus went to Shell petrol kiosk to pump diesel after leaving the bus station. Why can't he pump b4 picking up passengers? Then, he took a road which was so much further than the road he SHOULD HAD taken to enter the highway, as in he went south again, and turn back to north, when he could actually take the north exit and save his diesel. Well, maybe he's not familiar on Kajang roads. No offense Mr Driver! =)

Image hosted by Photobucket.com
Playing Hindi MTV at 10:10

However it was a lil funny and a lil annoying because the driver played Hindi MTVs on the tv from the moment i got in(Malay Driver). Fit fit buff-up handsome guys were shaking their shoulders and fat fat spare tyres gals with big big boobies were shaking waist down. Typical huh? haha... too bad none were running between trees.

2250 hrs
Reached Putra Station in KL to pick up the remainder passengers. Then to find out that all east coast buses no longer stop in the congested Puduraya. Putra Station is exactly opposite PWTC and Sogo. Take a Komuter Train to Putra, walk up and u'll see buses all along the road. We then headed for for KL-Kuantan's Karak highway to cut across 'banjaran titiwangsa' to east coast.

0130 hrs
The new highway was so empty after genting exit. Hardly seeing any lights until every 2 minutes interval. Most cars will be on high-beam, and down to low beam when came into sight. Sad to say, some cars just won't turn down to low beam, leaving my poor driver to eyes-strain, so selfish of them! The road was obscured by mist, kinda made the jouney scary ya know? in addition to midnight and pitch black on both left and right, your brain starts to think nonsense, maybe white figures poping out! And at such quiet road, if your car breaks down, no1 would stop to help u!!!

The bus was smooth till suddenly a very loud sound was heard "TONG TONG", the bus ran over something, it sound and felt as though the thing was hard and long, maybe a stick? maybe a snake? But the 1st thing that came to my mind was 'hantu'. Every1 in the bus sat up straight, shocked by the sound. Mr Driver immediately slowed down and moved to the emergency lane, but he didn't stop the vehicle, still moving slowly while looking at the side mirror, very wise of him. At no consequnces he should stop and get out of the bus, u know why la.

And right at that time when he was moving slowly, a cold shiver ran down my spine and goosebumps were all over my skin. There were white butterflies eveywhere in front of the bus, so visible with the high-beams on. Why butterflies? Why white? my brain was really running like mad, scared. Mr Driver then sped off. We stopped at a Petronas station by the highway at Gambang, Pahang for peeing & stretching and also to check out the bus. Amazingly nothing was wrong, and to find out that the Petronas had white moths flying all around too! (haha was thinking too much)

Image hosted by Photobucket.com
Gambang = Gang Bang hahahhaah! Do u see white dots on the black background? they are the white moths

Gambang, Gambang, Gabang, Ganbang, GANGBANG! hahahhahah Me and Ram were laughing our ass out. What a name! oh another funny name was a place after Genting, 'Kg. Cinta Manis' haha... so romantic village ya? sweet love village. Lovely! Malaysians... haha

Me and Ram (me in white)

0303 hrs
Stopped at Seri Baging. Never heard of this lil town b4. Had Teh Tarik while continue talking crap with my buddy. To our surprise, we met a bunch of chinese guys and girls, they were the 1st bunch of chinese we met since the journey started. Dare not put on the flash, as it would look too obvious that i snap a pic of them. But then, i was lucky enough to snap a candid pic, see properly, the girl in white is wearing light purple underwear hahahha! i'm just so perverted and deperate!!

0430 hrs
Passed by Kerteh - hub for petroleum industry. The whole place look as though it was morning, so bright! everywhere was lighten up by lights, every single building was lighted up at 2-3m intervals. It look like an alien city, like Malaysia in year 3030. And u could see chimneys with burning flames at the top, so cool man! sometimes blue flames, sometimes red flames, was just so attracted to the flames, something different that we dun normally see (though it's not my 1st time seeing it)

0610 hrs
Was closing my eyes for a few minutes and re-opening again throughout the journey, never been successful in sleeping on bus journeys, dunno why. Finally, the 8 hours trip ended in Kuala Terengganu. Since it was a backpack trip, i had no idea where to go at all. No map in hands, no1 to call, the streets were still dark, sun was still sleeping, just me and Ram, totally lost. So we decided to take the left road and started walking like a blind man with my bag on my back. In the end, we came to a roundabout.
